Editorial Questions

Does engine-ius Press Release Services, Inc.® ever reject press releases or articles?

As a general rule of thumb, engine-ius Press Release Services, Inc. does not reject press releases or articles.  In certain circumstances we may ask you to edit your release or article so that it may follow editorial guidelines (i.e., press releases must be newsworthy, and articles must be informative).  Neither a press release nor an article is meant to have a sales/promotional tone.  In the event you present content like this, we will attempt to give you direction on how to make it more newsworthy (press release) or informative (article).  By choosing to go around the editorial guidelines/recommendations, we hold no responsibility for the success of your press release or article.  News sites and article hubs do not find value in promotional works, and this will be reflected in your press release or article’s ability to be picked up by the search engines and read.  However, each press release and article submission allows for a small section (called a bio box) to inform others about you (the author), your company/Web site, or the products and services you offer.

Does engine-ius Press Release Services, Inc.® accept press releases for adult content?

Under no circumstance will we accept inappropriate or adult-related content.

Distributing a Press Release through engine-ius

How long does it take to distribute a news release?

48 hours after you (i.e., client) approve the news release for distribution.

When is the best time to distribute a press release?

Evidence shows that most people read news related sites Monday-Wednesday.  To get the most exposure possible, we recommend you complete the press release form by Thursday or Friday of the week before you would like your news distributed.  Although we occasionally work on weekends, we realize that many of you may not and this allows you adequate time to approve your optimized release prior to syndication.

Although we recommend having a press release distributed Monday-Wednesday, this is not required.  It is up to you when you what day you would like us to distribute your news release.

How long does it take for my news to be found on the Internet?

On the news section of the major search engines (i.e., Google News, Yahoo News, and MSN news) it takes approximately 24 hours for your news to be found.  However, on the regular Web search results it usually takes about a week.

How long will my news stay active in the search engines?

The results can be seen for any period of time depending on how competitive the keywords are they you are targeting.  However, fresher news will take precedence over outdated news.

How many people will read/receive my release?

Generally, press releases are sent to 60,000-100,000 journalists, analysts, freelance writers, media outlets, and newsrooms.  Depending on the category of the news release and the geographical area that is being targeted, the typical release is read by 10,000-100,000 people (journalists/online news readers, etc) in the first 30 days.

What types of sites display my news?

A wide variety of online news sites—potentially any newspaper in the country (specifically your targeted geographical area).

Can my news be targeted to specific newspapers or magazines?

News is submitted to general news sites based on geographical nature of the news release- broken down by category.

How do I ensure that the press release is distributed to the most qualified sources?

Each PR firm has their own set of newspapers, journalists, etc. where they submit content.  At engine-ius Press Release Services, Inc., we make sure that the news release is fully optimized so that it receives higher keyword rankings on the major search engines, i.e., providing Web surfers with relevant search results.  Then, each press release is submitted to a geographical area whether that be internationally or by city and state.

What sets you apart from other press release companies?

We offer a full spectrum of services – writing, optimization, and distribution of news releases.  Unlike other companies, we work with you throughout the process to ensure the keywords that are chosen for your news release fully represent your company, products, and/or services.  In addition, we give you the opportunity to provide any feedback prior to your release being syndicated.  After the release has been distributed, we provide statistics related to the number of news reads, estimated pickups, prints, and back-links generated.

Distributing an Article through engine-ius

How long does it take to distribute an article?

The submission process is generally started within 24 hours after you (i.e., client) approve the article for distribution, but we ask that you allow 2-7 business days to complete the submission process.  Additionally, many article hubs experience a lag in distribution as they pass through a second editorial process for each of the article sites.  As a result, the actual date of submission is typically not the same as when the article will be hosted on different hubs.

When is the best time to distribute an article?

There is no evidence that indicates there is a particular time that is best to distribute and article.  This may be because articles take longer to show up online.  Furthermore, the actual date of submission is typically not the same as when the article will be hosted on different hubs because they are often overloaded with submissions.

How long does it take for my article to be found on the Internet?

This is dependent upon how quickly the article hubs approve your content.  However, it typically takes 3-4 weeks to see the true results of where your article has been posted.  In addition, reporting metrics will be sent that indicate where your article was picked up and how many back-links have been generated.  Although this time frame is typical for most article submissions, engine-ius Press Release Services, Inc. has no control over time for article inclusion, number of sites that will display submitted content, or the number of back-links generated.

How long will my article stay active online?

The results can be seen for any period of time depending on how competitive the keywords are that you are targeting.  Unlike press releases, articles stay active for a longer period of time, but also take longer to show up in the search engine results.

What types of sites display my article?

Your article can be seen on a wide variety of online article directory hubs.  These hubs are typically general in nature, but are broken down by category so that interested people can easily find what they are looking for.

Understanding SEO

Why is SEO Necessary?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is necessary because there is often a gap in the language that the author and the reader speak. The optimization process involves researching popular keywords, injecting these words into the press release, and distributing the news content to various sites.

In addition, as the Web becomes increasingly competitive, it is essential that the press release content be newsworthy, keyword-rich, fully optimized, and submitted to quality news sites.  This process can dramatically increase online exposure, leads, and sales revenue by allowing the maximum number of news sites to pick up your release and thus have more reads by your target market.

How Does Search Engine Optimization Work?

Search Engines rank sites based on a variety of things. However, relevant, optimized content is perhaps the easiest way to get noticed.  Optimization is successful because the purpose of the search engine is to provide the searcher with relevant results. When an article, press release, or Web site is keyword-rich, the search engines make the connection between the word that was searched for and the words found on the Web site/article/press release; as a result, it receives higher keyword rankings on major search engines.
