What Are the Three Press Release Types?
A press release can be written for several reasons depending on the type of news and the time period in which it is conveyed. However, a press release must be newsworthy and be distributed through the right distribution channels to be effective. Listed below are the three types of press releases:
Press Release Announcement. A press release announcement tells of an event or subject that will happen in the future. It is critical in this type of press release to plan ahead and allow for publishing time so that the announcement is made before the event occurs.
News Release. A news release reports about the same things as a press release announcement; however, it speaks of the past and the consequences or results of the event. On the other hand, if the event is ongoing, a report could be given on what took place and announce activities or events that will take place in the future.
News List. A news list provides information about the consequences and further development of already well-known events.
These three types of press releases are all based on time sensitive information. Consequently, it is essential that you provide information that is interesting, newsworthy, clearly written, and relevant to the journals and newspapers of submission. These are all crucial factors in getting the press release accepted and published, thus, enabling others to learn more about your company, its activities, plans, or products.
